Court date is set after serious crash
A Maidstone man is set to appear in court following a crash which left a motorcyclist fighting for his life in hospital.
Martin Tucker, 46, of Tonbridge Road has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and hearing is due at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 18.
Jordan Crist, who is in his 20s, was riding his blue Suzuki 600 motorcycle home from work when he was involved in a collision with a Fiat Scudo van on the A229 Royal Engineers Road.
The crash happened at about 5.30pm on November 10, by the Old Chatham Road slip-road. There were delays until 9pm.
Mr Crist’s family thanked a good samaritan for staying by his side until the emergency services arrived. The young biker was airlifted to King’s College Hospital in London with life-threatening injuries, from which he is still said to be recovering.
