He leaves behind family including his son Carlo, 13, and his 27-year-old niece, Chloe Palmer. She said: “He was full of laughter, always laughing all the time and he was a fun character, the life and soul of any party. He was always loyal and would do anything for you.

“He used to love the River Festival and went every year. He used to have a boat that was his pride and joy.”

The shocking news of Mr Collins’ death was broken to the family just two weeks after his sister, and Chloe’s mother, Angela, died following a two-and-a-half year battle with breast cancer.

Chloe added: “The only thing we want to say is it is really heartbreaking with everything that is going on at the moment and we want to get to the bottom of it.”

A date for the opening of the inquest into Mr Collins’ death has not yet been set.

A man and a woman have been bailed pending further inquiries, until Tuesday, May 2.
