A man is appealing to find the young couple who helped to save his elderly mother’s life.

Nick Skinner, of Boughton Monchelsea, received the call from his sister, Anthea Hallihan, to say his mum, Mary Skinner, had been taken to hospital after injuring herself falling in the road.

The 43- year- old said: “If it hadn’t been for the young couple finding her, we don’t know what would have happened.

“Our Saturday could have been a whole lot worse if it wasn’t for them, she could have been hit by a car.”

Mrs Skinner, 75, of Linton Hill, Maidstone, was discovered by the pair at around 8pm on Saturday, March 4.

She was lying partially in the road after leaving The Bull Inn – her local pub just across the road from her house.

The couple got her home safely and then waited with her for the ambulance to arrive.

Mrs Skinner suffered cuts on the right side of her head and a possible broken nose but is recovering well after an overnight stay in the hospital.

Mr Skinner, a photographer, posted details of the fall on Facebook, asking people to “please pass on our family’s massive thanks” to the unknown pair.

The post has been shared hundreds of times, but the family has not yet been able to track them down.

Mr Skinner said: “My faith in humanity has been restored and we are so grateful.

“The simplest thing my sister and I could say is thank you so much.”

If anyone has any information about who these people might be, call Nick on 07912 758292.
