Hundreds of new £5 notes are available on various auction sites but one man sold his for more than £60,000.

Piotr Sobczuk, from Telford, Shropshire, received a whopping bid of £60,100 when he listed his fiver on eBay.

The rare serial number of AA01 4444 meant it was one of the first to be printed and was sold on Sunday morning.

Chilean artist Marco Evaristti, best known for artwork involving goldfish in blenders, tried to sell a sculpture of Auschwitz made from Holocaust victims’ gold teeth.

Mr Evaristti appeared on Channel Four’s Four Rooms in 2012 when he was offered £37,000 by one dealer to stamp on it.

He rejected the deal and said he would do so only if paid £220,000.

The sculpture was previously placed on show in Berlin but was removed after just two hours due to public outcry.

A collection of 200 letters written by notorious gangster Reggie Kray while in Maidstone Prison was to be listed online after failing to meet its reserve at auction.

The rare items were up for sale at McTear’s, Glasgow, in June 2015 with an estimated value of up to £15,000. They later sold for just £750.
