Brilliant work clearing up litter

Assistant news editor Senior reporter Senior reporter I would like to congratulate all the groups of people who spent time trying to tidy up their local communities.

It’s a pity KCC Highways, or whoever is responsible, can’t or won’t do the same. I have recently travelled the A249 Detling up to the Senior reporter Senior reporter M2 roundabout and the litter on the grass verges all the way along that route is appalling.

There is not one place that is litter free. I’m sure the motorists wouldn’t dream of opening their doors at home and throw their litter into their gardens, so why do it in Senior reporter Reporter public shared spaces?

The solution is a simple one if only people could be bothered, just keep a bag in your vehicle for your litter, take it home or find a bin and dispose of it thoughtfully. Mrs J Fulton Coverdale Avenue, Maidstone.
