Evans to try luck at Gate

-

Midfielder Jack Evans is set to sign for National League South club Margate. He’ll complete a move to Hartsdown Park today (Thursday) after falling out of favour at Maidstone. The deal sees him reunited with new Gate boss Steve Watt, who worked with Evans (pictured), during a loan spell at Hastings, and exStones team-mate James Rogers. Maidstone manager Jay Saunders said: “Jack’s done well in spells for us but it’s one of them where we brought Stuart Lewis and Reece Prestedge in and Jack Paxman has made that position his own. “It was always going to be difficult for him and with young Harry Phipps coming through and Jake McCarthy, there’s a lot of competition. “Jack just wants to play and he’s a good player. “He knows a couple of the boys at Margate and he’ll fit in well.”
