HOME IMPROVEMEN­T ‘IMPOSING’ SIGHT

Maidstone’s new North Stand will be open for Tuesday’s National League game against Sutton United. The stand, which has cost £750,000 to build, houses 1,768 fans and raises capacity at the Manager Jay Saunders is in two minds whether a break has done Maidstone good.

United’s home match against Sutton on Tuesday night will be their first in 17 days after two blank weekends.

It’s halted momentum after a five-match unbeaten run in the National League but the players will be fresh against a Sutton side who have been catching up on games after their FA Cup exploits.

Saunders said: “You always have that little concern but Gallagher to 4,200. Co-owner Terry Casey said: “It is quite an achievemen­t and each time I’ve walked around it, I’ve thought how imposing it is and how impressive it is. It enhances the whole stadium.”
