MP opposes development

Mid Kent MP Helen Whately, above, is calling on Maidstone Borough Councillors to stand by their decision rejecting a 47,000sqm commercial development at Woodcut Farm, close to Leeds Castle.

Planning officers are telling members not to defend an appeal at a public inquiry.

But Mrs Whately said: “Residents don’t want to see this unspoilt area turned into a business park.”
