Activist group are militant vegans

-

Editor News editor Assistant news editor Regarding the article reporting that Michael Bax, chairman of the Kent Wildlife Trust, was a former Master of Blean Beagles, I would like to present a different side to the issue and that is what appears to be a vendetta being waged on the Facebook page of the trust by a small group of antagonists seemingly on behalf of Stop the Cull who exposed the story on social media.

Their campaign is a continued assertion that Michael Bax is still involved in hunting, demands for his dismissal, and refusal to accept the statement of the trust or that people can change and now act in the best interests of wildlife.

These agitators are incapable of backing up their allegations with conclusive evidence, with most of it provided by Stop the Cull or other hunt saboteur groups, and refuse or fail to answer any questions regarding it, making it a rather cowardly attack. Their actions have gone beyond those of concerned members, if indeed they are, and have become malicious because their accusations are designed to undermine the work of the trust.

Stop the Cull are a group of animal activists whose admin team are militant vegans who think nothing of criticising or blocking their own followers on Facebook for expressing any views that don’t support them wholeheartedly.

Generally, it is not conservationists who are calling for Michael Bax to resign. These activists are not conservationists, and have little understanding of the issues that organisations such as KWT have to contend with. Jeff Phillips via email announced it was no longer in service. Everyone then had to wait until 4pm – a wait of an hour and 20 minutes – for the next bus.

It also meant there was no service between 1.10pm to 4pm.

This is simply not good enough. Ray Sturgeon Eccles
