Juddians complete the double
SIDCUP TONBRIDGE
Tonbridge completed double last Sunday.
They added Kent Cup final glory to their National 3 title with a 62-3 win over London 3 South East champions Sidcup at Canterbury.
Murray GalbraithLowe powered over for an unconverted try to give Judds the lead after 10 minutes.
Lock Cole Campbell touched down the second try, converted by fly-half Liam Prescott, as Judds made it 10- 0.
Sidcup put points on the board with a penalty but Campbell’s second try and the conversion from Prescott the kept Judds on top.
Tonbridge built on their lead in the second half when Galbraith-Lowe took a pass from winger James Copsey and added his second try, Prescott converting.
Tom Nicoll was next to score, running in an unconverted try from 60 metres for a 31-3 lead.
Sidcup couldn’t break through Judds’ cover defence and fell further behind when captain Jon McMahon set up GalbraithLowe’s hat-trick try, again unconverted.
Judds scored four more tries in the final 15 minutes against a tiring and disheartened Sidcup side.
Copsey scored the first two, both converted by Prescott.
Hugo Watson, on the left wing, shrugged off a couple of tackles to burst through and score, then replacement right wing Ryan Redman showed a clean pair of heels to the defence for Tonbridge’s 10th try.
Tonbridge beat Cheshire outfit Lymm 38-19 in the final of the National Under-17 Cup at Worcester.
