Bail extended for murder suspects
A sci-fi mad couple tied the knot with a Star Wars themed wedding.
Jacqueline Gould and Andrew Lyle turned their venue, the Hop Farm in Paddock Wood, into a scene more resembling a galaxy far, far away, with guests from both the dark and the light side putting aside their differences to attend.
The pair exchanged their vows on May the 4th, promising to love one another, in sith-ness and in health, till darth do them part under the watchful eyes of Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and even Lord Vader himself.
Miss Gould, 30, who is from Weavering in Maidstone, was dressed as Padmé Amidala, wearing a gown which took mum Ellen more than a year to make, while her husband-to-be came in the robes of menacing Count Dooku.
The bride and groom even left the ceremony to the sound of the imperial march, under a lightsaber guard of honour, and swapped custom made rings with iconography from the cult films. Even the wedding cake received the Star Wars treatment – being fashioned in the shape of R2-D2. Two men arrested on suspicion of murder after a father of three died in Maidstone have been rebailed.
The suspects, both 30 and from the town, were arrested after Kaspars Ajuts was killed in an arson attack on his Marsham Street home in February.
The 48-year-old, who lived at the terrace property with his wife and two of his children, was dragged out by fire crews but died at the scene.
Both suspects have had their bail extended until Monday, May 22.
