Phil Pretty maintained his record of winning in every age group at the Kent Messenger Superveterans Tennis finals.
There was a new age group this year – for over-75s – and Pretty won it in partnership with Derek Taylor.
They beat Alan Lennox and John Belcher from Hayes at Tunbridge Wells Indoor Sports Centre.
Keith Clark of Ramsgate gained his 32nd championship by defeating Ray Murray (Gravesend) in the over-70 singles and then teaming up with Murray to beat Canterbury pair Geoff Cannon and Brian Robinson in the doubles.
Cannon partnered son Nigel to win the combined age over 100 event against another father and son pair, Derek and Richard Taylor (Fawkham).
Ian Milligan (Bexleyheath), a former junior Wimbledon player, won the over- 60 singles against Liam Griffith (Tunbridge Wells). Milligan added the doubles alongside John Hazeldine, beating David Neal and Chris Lack from Bearsted. Tony Cherry, head coach at the new Avenue Centre in Medway, won the over-50 singles against Paul White (Horsmonden), while David Menzies (Tunbridge Wells) took the over- 65 singles against Terry McCarthy (Meopham). The over-50 doubles was won by Ashley Holding and Graham Holding (Tunbridge Wells) against John Donaghey and Eddie Hanwick (Bexley). Winners were presented with a set of crystal glass trophies by Swedish sculptor Mats Jonasson.
