Kings Hill get off to a winning start

Kings Hill started life in the Premier Division with a big win over Wickham Park.

They lost Werner Laubscher to a second-ball duck but Neil Taylor (60), Mohammed Cowdhury (52), Alex Richards (47), Shaun McMurray (46 not out) and Jack Raffles (45 not out) all contribute­d to a total of 270- 4.

Raffles (4-21) and McMurray (321) also impressed with the ball as Wickham were bowled out for 131.

Staplehurs­t made a good start after promotion. Tom Henson (54) and captain Tom Davey (48) set up a total of 203-7 against the Roebucks.

Henson went on to take 3-30 as the Roebucks were held to 178-8.

Headcorn eased to an eightwicke­t success against Sherwood in Division 1A Central.

Rob Mansell took 6-19 as Sherwood collapsed to 85 all out. Opener Simon Phipps then hit nine fours in a knock of 45 as Headcorn won in the 24th over.

Warren Jackson scored 101 while Peter Bowles added 83 in The Mote 3rds’ 265-3 against Sheppey. Rumwood fell 48 runs short against Upchurch 3rds in 1B Central.

Stephen Puxty took 3-16 in eight overs as Upchurch made 139-7, but Rumwood were all out for 91.

Lenham beat Rodmersham by 45 runs, closing on 132-8 before bowling out their opponents for 87.

Snodland Community bowled out Dartford for only 18 in Division 2A West. Defending 148, Nathan Waller took 7-8 and Tim Merry 3-8.

Leeds & Broomfield 2nds beat Old Williamson­ians 2nds by two wickets in Division 2A East.

Rob Farlam (4-20) and Suarav Parmer (3-50) did the damage as OWs were dismissed for 176. Opener Matthew Jones (41) and James Nurden (52) set up the chase.

Holborough Anchorians 2nds lost to Gravesend by 61 runs in Division 2B Central.

Gravesend closed on 168-9, Nisar Mirza with 4-17. Paul Roberts made 40, but Anchs slipped to 107 all out.

Alex Chapman made 105 as Kings Hill 2nds beat Hunton 2nds by 156 runs in Division 2C Central.

Dave Leppard took 3-50, but Kings Hill closed on 272-5. Hunton were out for 116 in reply, Matt Blewett with 5-30.

Headcorn 2nds beat Upchurch 4ths by eight wickets.

Upchurch made 171-9, Matt Shrimpton with 2-33. Trevor Scrivens was unbeaten on 88 while Craig Fisher made 52 not out as Headcorn won with an over left.

Yalding suffered a four-wicket defeat in a low-scoring opener against Gravesend RF.

Mark Wood (20) was one of only two players in double figures as Yalding were bowled out for 79.
