A beer cafe is hoping to welcome new visitors for a refreshing tipple over the summer.

Fuggles Beer Cafe was a welcome addition to Tunbridge Wells when it opened in 2013, and has proved very popular with locals and visitors to the town. It has also recently been named pub of the year by the West Kent branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra).

Owner Alex Grieg started the Grosvenor Road business after having what he describes as a “beer revelation”, which made him keen to get involved with this part of the hospitality industry.

He said: “We opened in November 2013 with a fairly simple aim of selling the best beers we could find, along with a decent and well curated range of gin, whisky, and wine in a relaxed and sociable environment.

“Since then we’ve added even more beer and our gin and whisky offerings have exploded and we’ve worked really hard on our food offer as well, adding more dishes and lots of fantastic cured meats and cheeses from across the UK.”

To sample one of Fuggles 150 different beers, head to the Grosvenor Road bar between 11.30am and 11pm Monday to Saturday, or between noon and 9.30pm on Sundays.
