Sisters secure national championship double

Sisters Grace and Ellie MacAuley were winners at the National IAPS Triathlon Championships. Grace, nine, won the under-10 title at Dulwich Prep School, completing a 140m swim, 2k bike ride and 1.2k run in 16.20 sec. Ellie, 11, swam 200m, cycled 4k and ran 1.8k in 22.67 to take the under-12s crown. The pair are pupils at Kent College Pembury.

The Leeds Castle Triathlon takes place on weekend. First up is the sprint distance event on Saturday – a 750m swim, a 26k bike ride and a 5k run – and there’s also a junior aquathlon for children aged eight to 14. That’s followed by the standard distance on Sunday – a 1,500m swim, a 40k bike ride and a 10k run. Entries are closed.
