Helen Grant MP
Iam deeply honoured and proud to have been returned as your MP following the general election on June 8. I am also grateful to the Editor of the Kent Messenger for giving me the opportunity to continue with my weekly column. It is a unique conduit allowing me to share my work and my views with those whom I serve.
Regrettably the past few weeks since my last column have been a diary of horror, sadness and ever-increasing attempts by a few to drive division and cultivate disharmony among the many. As your representative I will, above all, do everything within my power to protect our multicultural way of life, to preserve peace and defeat conflict, to seek justice and promote kindness among our people.
On general policy issues I am determined to maintain close engagement with constituents throughout my term in office, as I have in the past, and not just at election time! I am here to serve everyone in Maidstone & The Weald regardless of party political leanings. If there is something I can do for you then please contact me via helen.grant.mp@parliament.uk or on 0207 219 7107.
The feedback on the doorsteps during my re-election campaign confirmed to me that the issues of most importance to local people are Brexit, education funding and housing availability for young people and first-time buyers.
