When you’re feeling hungry, there’s nothing like a nice tasty pie. And Mrs Lovett makes the best, thanks to the unique ingredient­s supplied to her by Sweeney Todd, the demon barber of Fleet Street. Their story is this year’s drama club production by students from Valley Park School and will be performed at the Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone until Saturday. Aaron Frith plays Todd, a role performed on the big screen by Johnny Depp; Nicole Kakel is Mrs Lovett and Sophie Earl is Johanna. There are 65 students in the cast in total, with ages ranging from 11 to 18. The music is by Stephen Sondheim.
