lester.gosbee@btinternet.com In 2016, England had one of the wettest Junes on record with 72mm of rain in Frittenden with 15 wet days. This June, there were just seven days with recorded rain during the month of June, but with the hot weather storms, I recorded 62mm of rain in Frittenden during June, which is almost two and a half inches. This June was a hot one, with a central England temperature of 16c/ 60.80f, which is 3.42 f above average. It was the seventh warmest June since 1910. The weather looks like settling down over the weekend and next week....back to hay making for farmers.
- Hot continental air will become very humid and thunderstorms are likely from mid afternoon through to the evening. Winds will be southerly at 2 - 6mph, possibly gustier in storms. Temperatures will be between 27 and 29 c/ 81 - 84 f.
- The weather will continue to be humid, still with the possibility of a thundery shower. There will still be some hot sunshine. Winds will be south westerly at 3 - 7mph with temperatures at 25 c/ 77 f.
- Much fresher with sunny spells and some cloud at times. Winds will be westerly or north westerly at 4 - 8mph, with temperatures at 23 c/ 73 f, close to normal.
- A very similar day to Saturday, but high pressure is building from the Azores. Winds will be westerly at 2 - 7mph with temperatures at 23 c/ 73 f.
- High pressure is now well established. There will be a warm southerly breeze of 3 - 6mph. There will be lots of sunshine, 10 hours a day, and only a little fine weather cloud. Temperatures will be at 24 c/ 75 f on Monday and 28 c/ 82 f by Wednesday. A good time for a holiday in Kent.
