Rainbows reach new heights

-

Rainbows were soaring at a Maidstone adventure centre, when they took to the climbing wall. The group of youngsters spent the night at Lower Grange Farm in Grange Lane, which is owned by Kent Scouts, before taking part in a range of activities including reaching new heights by scrambling to the summit of the colourful ‘rock-face’. It was part of a trip organised by Shepway Rainbows, a group catering for five to seven-year-olds which was set up four years ago. Correspondent: Sue Whiteoak Tel: 01634 660097 Local Redevelopment: Information this week from Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council about the proposed redevelopment of the Upper Bell public house site has caused mixed reactions in the village. The proposal is to build 10 flats and four semi-detached houses on ground previously occupied by the pub. The site is now an unsightly boarded up corner of land at the top of the old part of the A229 where it used to join the top of Blue Bell Hill. Appeals are with the Borough Council.
