Allington Community Associatio­n: Family Race Night - Saturday September 23 Gates open at 7:15pm - First Race at 8pm Entry £2 per person - Bring family and friends with some nibbles to share. Tea and Chat: with the weekly ‘Get Together’ group on Wednesday September 20 from 2.30 - 4pm in the Baptist Church. A chance to have a chat, play a few games and spend a time of fellowship together with some refreshmen­ts. Saturday Club: For Primary School Children next meet on Saturday September 16 from 10.00am - 12 noon at St. Nicholas Church New Members Welcome: at the Allington Active Retirement Associatio­n (ALLARA) - We are a non-profit making organizati­on to provide new friendship­s and leisure activities for all retired persons over the age of 50. Our regular monthy meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month in St. Nicholas Hall at 1.30 for 2pm start with a Guest Speaker or Entertaine­r, together with raffle, tea and biscuits. The Club also organizes Holidays, Coach Outings, Theatre Trips and has regular weekly T’ai Chi, Keep Fit, Art Group, Kurling and Sequence Dancing. We also have special events i.e. A Christmas Tea, Beetle Drives, Quizzes and more. Members can also take part in other organized events ie. Ten Pin Bowling, Line Dancing, Shows, Holidays and Race Nights. What’s not to like! Come along and make this your regular friendship club. will be celebratin­g their annual Harvest Festival supper and food bank collection at their next meeting on Wednesday, September 20 at 7.30pm in the church at Upper Robin Hood Lane ME5 9QR. If so, please join your fellow villagers outside Maidstone Town Hall to protest about the proposal to build 210 houses in Forstal Lane. Also, to attend the planning meeting at 6pm. Please support one or both of these actions. Ladies Book Group.: Coxheath Library will be holding their next Ladies Book Group on Thursday (21st) between 2-30 and 3-30pm. Why not go along and have a discussion over a chat and cuppa? Blood Donor Sessions.: The next Blood Donor Sessions will be on Friday September 22 between1-45 to 4-30pm and 5-30 and 8pm. Hearing Aid Clinic.: Hi Kent will be holding their next monthly Hearing Aid Clinic on Friday September 22 between 10 and 11-30am in Family Room 1 at The Heathside Centre, Heath Road. No appointmen­t is necessary. They also have advice available about their extensive range of specialist equipment, free assessment service for the over 65s and the lip reading, sign language and deaf awareness classes and tinnitus support groups. Kettle Bridge Clogs.: Kettle Bridge Clogs will be holding their Annual “Come and Have a Go” evening at 8pm on Tuesday September 19 at St. Nicholas Church Hall, Poplar Grove, Allington, ME16 0DE. This will be a fun evening where various moves from North West Morris dances will be taught. There is no charge for the evening. No experience is necessary as full tuition will be given. Just wear comfortabl­e shoes, i.e. trainers. Contact 07876 194375 or just turn up on the night. Who knows but this may become a regular Tuesday evening out.
