Too little, too late for Judds
TONBRIDGE CANTERBURY
Tonbridge should learn lessons from their defeat by Canterbury on Saturday. They need to start quicker, sort out their line-out, believe in themselves without becoming over-confident and, crucially, not allow teams to take such a large lead. They rallied from 31-3 down at half-time but left themselves too much to do, suffering their first defeat since promotion to National 2 South. Judds’ only points of the first half came from a Liam Prescott penalty, while the city club scored five tries. Tonbridge were a different side in the second half, with tries for Jon McMahon, Will Colderick and Hugo Watson plus three Prescott conversions closing the gap to 31-24. It looked as though Tonbridge could draw or even win the match but Canterbury snuffed out the fightback with a late try. Judds make the trip to Bristol on Saturday to face Clifton.
