East Malling are spot on after thriller

East Malling beat Aylesford on penalties in the Presidents Cup after a 5-5 draw.

Ashley Russell scored twice for Aylesford in the first half but Mark Barrett and Jack Bray levelled and then Ryan Perkins and Simon Hibbs made it 4-2 to Malling in the second half.

Steve Sharp and Craig Russell squared the tie and while Malling thought they’d won through striker Nathan Faulkes, a brilliant solo goal from Michael Backler took it to penalties. Malling won the shoot-out 4-1.

Langley Athletic also penalties to see off K Sports.

Langley led with Jordan Page’s header but Sports levelled through an own goal and went 2-1 up midway through the second half.

A well-worked team goal, finished by David Stamp, took the tie the distance, with Langley winning 4-2 on spot-kicks. Division 2 Swale Magpies needed claimed a flattering 4- 0 Challenge Cup victory over Invicta Sunday from the division below.

Swale pounced on a poor backpass to lead after two minutes but Invicta chances fell to Tyler Money, Dan Porter, Shawn Dowling and man-ofthe-match Joe Brecht before going two down.

Swale’s third came from a corner Invicta thought should have been a throw-in, with James Marshall’s own goal making it four.

Fisherman’s Arms continued their freescorin­g start to the season with a 7- 0 win at Whitehawks.

Josh Brown scored twice, with Tom Mitchinson, Tony Wiles, George O’Mahoney, Pedro Almeida and an own goal completing the tally.

Park Royal Reserves beat Barming 3-1 in a tie that finished 10-a-side.

Blues’ Phil Griffiths and Royal man James Humphrey saw red early on.

Goals from Nick Meads, Matt Barden and Elliott Gardiner saw Royal through, with Toby Grayland scoring late for Barming.

White Horse continued their 100% start in the Premier Division after a 5-1 win at Leeds.

Jacob Walters’ goalline clearance denied Leeds and White Horse went straight up the other and scored after Joe Boorman fed Jacob Hearne on the edge of the box.

Russell Kent’s own goal made it 1-1 but the Horse showed their quality with Sean O’Meara’s first-time finish from Aston Webb’s crossfield ball and Dean Skeggs’ effort.

Leeds had Mark Batten dismissed for violent conduct and Skeggs grabbed his second before Michael Simmonds lost his man from Craig Whalin’s cross and scored.

Snodland Town won their first game of the season, beating Invicta Rangers 3-2 .

attM Pearson and Lewis Wright struck for Rangers but goals from Ben Edwards, Zach Harris and man-of-the-match Ben Smith gave Snodland the points.

Weavering beat Ryarsh Rangers 2- 0 with a goal in each half, Thomas Ashby and Dan Skinner the scorers.

Steve Vant scored a hat-trick as East Malling Reserves beat Kings Park Rangers 3- 0 in Division 1. The Rangers’ defence couldn’t handle his pace.

Barming Youth eased to 5- 0 win at Maidstone Internatio­nal thanks to Paul Rance, Kane Vanns, Kurtis Buckingham, Troy Smith and Tyler Smith.

Marden Minors and Blue Eagles, meanwhile, drew 4- 4. Adam Porter scored a hat-trick for Marden, with Lewis Blake’s drive completing the tally. Eagles earned a point with Joe Terry’s double, Brad Hunt and Daniel Ashton.

Stephen Callan’s hat-trick Cranbrook top of Division 2.

They beat Coxheath & Farleigh 6- 0, with further goals from Ben Baker, Hayden Judd and man-of-the-match Joe Waters. sent
