Music at Woolpack: The Woolpack Inn at Benover was the venue for Mick’s Hot Lips band on Sunday October 15. Evening Communion: On Sunday October 29 at 6.00pm, an evening Communion service will take place at St Margaret’s Church. Saturday in Yalding: On Saturday October 28 from 10am-3pm, the Yalding and District WI annual craft fair takes place in Yalding village hall. This event is renowned for its quality hand made goods, including wooden gifts, paintings, knitted/crochet goods and jewellery. There will also be tombola and delicious refreshmen­ts. In the evening from 7pm, at Yalding village hall, Tom Carradine will be at the piano for a Cockney sing-a-long, in aid of Yalding surgery. Tickets at £8 each, include a hot supper and are available from the surgery or Yalding Tearooms. School news: As Monday October 30, is a staff developmen­t day, the children will not be back in school after the October break until Tuesday October 31. On Tuesday October 31 and Thursday November 2, the Friends of Collier Street School will be organising Christmas card design sessions in the school hall from 3.15pm. 4PY Tel: 01622 746086 Hearing Aid Clinic.: The next hearing aid clinic will be tomorrow (27th) between 10am and 11-30am in Family Room 1 at The Heathside Centre. If you are concerned about something that you think they could help you with, go along and discuss it with him/her. There is no need to make an appointmen­t. Library Hours.: Beginning on Saturday 11 November the new Saturday library hours will be 9am to 1pm. Change of Venue.: The venue for Sutton Valence Gardeners’ AGM has had to be changed. The new venue is Langley Village Hall on Sunday November 19 at 2-30pm. The meeting will include sale of RNLI Christmas cards, normal end of year raffle and refreshmen­ts including home made cakes. PARISH COUNCIL: The next meeting of Coxheath Parish Council is on Tuesday (31st) at 7-30pm in the small hall at the village hall. These meetings are open to all villagers. Correspond­ent: Nicola Greenaway Tel: 01732 844749 Remembranc­e Services 2017: REMEMBRANC­E DAY SERVICES and APPEAL FOR VOLUNTEERS This year there will be two services. The first service will be a short service held at the War Memorial commencing at approximat­ely 10.55am on Saturday 11th November. No assistance is required for this service as it does not involve any road closures. The second service will be on Sunday 12th November, at the Community Centre, commencing at 9.45am. The Parade will then assemble and march to the War Memorial where a further short service will take place including the two minutes silence at 11am. You may recall for the last few years the Parish Council has appealed for volunteers to assist with the road closures for the Sunday Parade as the Police will no longer provide this service. Several volunteers came forward and the parades took place without any problems - a big thank you to all that assisted previously. This year the situation is the same so if you are able to help out on the day as a road marshal, please get in touch with the Parish Office. All are welcome.
