Rapist jailed for car attacks

-

A predatory former public schoolboy who lured two drunk young women into a car before raping them has started a 20-year sentence.

Fantasist Chiron Hutchinson, who attended fee-paying St Bede’s in Sussex, was convicted last month of three rape offences. His victims were attacked within six days of each other in Tunbridge Wells.

Both were drunk and vulnerable when Hutchinson drove them in his mother’s car to secluded areas on the outskirts of the town and attacked them.

Two other women came forward as a result of subsequent publicity.

Hutchinson, 20, of Mount Pleasant Road, Uckfield, East Sussex, denied six charges of rape, six of sexual assault and one of attempted rape involving all four between July and October last year.

He was convicted by majority verdicts of two rapes of a 17-year-old girl and one rape of a 24-year-old woman, and cleared of all other charges.

The jury deliberated for more than 33 hours – unaware Hutchinson had already pleaded guilty to two offences of sexual activity with a girl, aged 14, in September last year.

He will have to serve two thirds of the sentence – almost 14 years – before being considered for parole, and will be on licence for a further eight years.

Hutchinson’s name will appear indefinitely on the sex offenders’ register.
