Halloween disturbance arrests

Two teenagers have been charged after a reported disturbance in Shepway on Halloween.

Police were called to Cumberland Avenue around 8.20pm last Tuesday. Officers told a number of people to leave the area in accordance with the terms of a dispersal order. Blessed Banda, 18, was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of obstructing a constable and failing to comply with the direction to leave. The Pickering Street resident was bailed to appear before Maidstone Magistrates Court on Friday, December 1.

A 16-year-old boy from Maidstone was arrested and charged with failing to comply with the officer’s order. He was bailed to appear before Medway Youth Court on Tuesday and cannot be named for legal reasons.
