Hal­loween dis­tur­bance ar­rests

Two teenagers have been charged af­ter a re­ported dis­tur­bance in Shep­way on Hal­loween.

Po­lice were called to Cum­ber­land Av­enue around 8.20pm last Tues­day. Of­fi­cers told a num­ber of peo­ple to leave the area in ac­cor­dance with the terms of a dis­per­sal or­der. Blessed Banda, 18, was sub­se­quently ar­rested and charged with two counts of ob­struct­ing a con­sta­ble and fail­ing to com­ply with the di­rec­tion to leave. The Pick­er­ing Street res­i­dent was bailed to ap­pear be­fore Maid­stone Mag­is­trates Court on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 1.

A 16-year-old boy from Maid­stone was ar­rested and charged with fail­ing to com­ply with the of­fi­cer’s or­der. He was bailed to ap­pear be­fore Med­way Youth Court on Tues­day and can­not be named for le­gal rea­sons.
