52 more police officers on way
Most members of the public say they would like to see more police officers on the streets. Well, another 52 are on the way.
Guests at their passing out parade at Kent Police headquarters in Sutton Road, Maidstone, included Chief Constable Alan Pughsley and Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Scott.
Mr Scott said: “I know from the many conversations I have with residents right across Kent and Medway that the number one thing they want to see is local policing. So I have made providing visible neighbourhood policing and effective roads policing a priority for the Chief Constable and I have raised money through the council tax precept and released funds from the force’s reserves to help him deliver on that.”
The number of Kent Police fulltime officers is now 3,262.
