Cheers EU! Family firm gets £66k brewery grant
New kit will give huge boost to amount of beer produced
A family brewery is toasting the expansion of its business after being awarded a substantial EU grant.
Musket Brewery at Loddington Farm, Linton, received more than £66,000 to help buy new brewing kit, enabling it to produce more beer than ever before.
Musket Brewery was set up in 2013 and supplies hundreds of pubs across the South East with real ale. The new equipment will produce in one day the same volume cre created by Mus Musket’s current kit during the course of an entire week. I t wi l l be installed in the first quar quarter of next year and cost more than £ 150,000 in total.
Tony Wi l - liams, founder and co-owner, said: “In just four years Musket has built an enviable reputation and significant client base throughout Kent, through brewing a range of high quality and consistent real ales, supported by exemplary customer service. However, the demand for Musket beers has resulted in an exhausting workload and we simply do not have the capacity to brew more.
“We are exceedingly grateful to the Leader Programme administration team at Kent County Council, for sharing our vision and financially supporting our expansion project with this grant.”
The Leader programme makes funds available to businesses, communities, farmers and foresters to benefit the rural economy.
Between £138m was up for grabs in England between 2015 and 2020 with the aim of boosting tourism, increasing form productivity and to provide essential services.
