Inspectors praise care home

-

A Maidstone care home has been rated as good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an inspection of its services.

The Ashley Gardens Care Centre on the Sutton Road is part of the Healthcare Homes group.

CQC inspectors visited the home unannounced in July. After a three-day inspection, they rated the home good in four areas and outstanding with regards to responsiveness.

They praised the “innovative and exceptional” activities laid on for residents.

Care at the home was personcentred, meaning each resident was treated as an individual, with services planned and coordinated to respond to their particular medical conditions, likes, dislikes and personal preferences.

The home currently caters for 84 residents with nursing needs, some with dementia.

Manager Jo Mazza said: “I am absolutely delighted to have received such a glowing report.

“To be considered outstanding in terms of how we respond to our residents’ needs is so important to us.”
