-

A charity golf day proved a real hole in one of a success, with £12,000 raised.

Children’s bereavement charity Holding on Letting Go received the generous sum as part of a £25,000 commitment by mechanical and electrical contractor Synecore.

More than 100 building industry professionals came out to the Tudor Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club on Ashford Road, Bearstead, for 18 holes of golf to support the cause.

In the evening, golfers took part in a charity auction, bidding on sought-after sporting memorabilia of Floyd Mayweather, Anthony Joshua and Pele.

Caroline Gaskin, chief fundraiser for the charity that offers support for children dealing with the loss of loved ones, said: “The children we support often feel very isolated in their grief and don’t know how to express the many emotions they are feeling appropriately.

“We depend enormously on the fundraising support of individuals, groups and businesses, such as Synecore, as they make it financially possible for us to offer these children the support they desperately need.”
