Soccer Elite FA enjoyed great success at the Football Cup Barcelona last month. SEFA took squads at under-15 and under-16 level to take part in the tournament, with the latter remaining unbeaten to win their trophy. Managed by Lee Radford, the under16s won the final against Indonesian side SBAI Garuda Java 2-0, thanks to a double from Charlie Revell. Revell finished as SEFA’s top scorer and also picked up the player-ofthe-tournament trophy, while Jamie Martin was picked as the tournament’s best goalkeeper. The under-15s, managed by Kieran Culleton, finished in a creditable sixth place after a penalty shoot-out defeat against Sweden’s GIF Nike in the 5th/6th place play-off. Under-14 Charlie Hatton, playing a year up, finished as his side’s top scorer with three goals from six games. SEFA director Rich Radbourne said: “The under-16s deserved their win after conceding just one goal at the event, beating some fantastic teams from across the world along the way. “The tournament provided an outstanding platform for our oldest academy players to show their capabilities and no doubt this priceless experience will help them kick on with their development going forward.”
