Pervert jailed after going in garden

-

A pervert who breached a sexual offences prevention order (SOPO) in Maidstone has been jailed.

Jamie Stevens, of no fixed address, was found guilty of entering a private garden off Chatham Road without permission last October.

The 30-year-old has repeatedly found himself in the dock over the past three years after flouting bizarre court conditions imposed after he performed a sex act in front of a police cell CCTV camera.

The SOPO ordered him to wear at least one layer of clothing over his underpants at all times, unless in a swimming pool, where he must wear trunks, to not urinate in a public place or a private place if visible to passers-by, to not loiter in alleyways and to not enter beyond boundaries of private residences without the permission of the owner.

At Maidstone Crown Court last week, he was sentenced to one year and six months in prison.

DC Darren Smitherman said: “Stevens has shown a complete disregard for the conditions of his prevention order and by entering a private garden was likely to cause considerable distress to residents. He should reform his behaviour when he is released as any further breaches are likely to lead to another period in prison.”

He was jailed for 180 days last February, after groping a woman at Poundstretcher in Aylesford.
