Hogwarts magic night at bookshop
Lovers of witchcraft and wizardry can put on their capes and dig out their broomsticks to celebrate the fourth annual Harry Potter Book Night at Waterstones.
Aspiring students of magic can take part in the fun at the branch in Fremlin Walk, Maidstone, in an evening of spellbinding games and activities.
It takes place from 4.30pm on Thursday, February 1, as JK Rowling’s world famous books are celebrated for the fourth year in a row.
Sarah O’Connell, children’s events co-ordinator at Waterstones Maidstone, said: “We love Harry Potter Book Night at Waterstones. It’s always brilliant fun to plan and host.
“Sharing the Hogwarts magic with our customers is such a joy and we hope our celebrations will inspire the next generation of readers to become fans too.”
Since its launch in 2015, Harry Potter Book Night has quickly established itself as one of the biggest events in the literary calendar, enjoyed by fans of all ages in bookshops all around the world.
The annual event aims to keep the Harry Potter magic alive and to encourage younger readers to discover the adventures of the boy wizard for the first time.
This year’s theme is Fantastic Beasts, the original cornucopia of mythical creatures which sit at the very heart of the magical stories, and the inspiration behind the popular film franchise of the same name.
Tickets to the event are free, but need to be reserved in the shop. For further information contact Waterstones Maidstone on maidstone@waterstones.com
