Church Road, tickets available from the chairman Andrew Rogers on 01622 859352 Shredding needed: The one hundred plus rescue ferrets looked after by the volunteers at the Harrietsha­m Ferret Rescue need long cut (not cross cut) shredded paper (no newspaper) for bedding purposes. If you are able to help, the rescue need water drinking bottles, fleece hammocks or sleeping bags and old plastic toys. Every little bit helps to protect the rescue ferrets. Concert band: The Invicta Concert Band will perform a mixture of music from the shows and popular classics at St John the Baptist church, Marley Road, on Friday, February 16 at 7.30pm - 9.30pm. Dunkirk film: The 2017 film which is 12A portrays the historic event as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops escape to safety from France to England, as the enemy forces advance. The village hall trust present the film at the regular Friday night film club on Friday, January 26 at 7.30pm for 8pm start. Entry is open to all subject to age restrictio­ns on the films. Entrance £3 per person (£1 joining fee for first film) and includes tea/coffee and biscuits. All welcome. Short mat bowls: The popular past time of short mat bowls is well establishe­d at the village hall, Church Road. Members meet twice a week in the Ambrose hall. Every Monday 2pm - 4.30pm and every Thursday 7pm - 10pm. New members are always welcome and full details are available from the secretary Mr.B Rust on 01622 859556 Health Walks: There are numerous walks offered of varying distances to suit all ages and abilities. Toddlers meet: Parents,babies and toddler group meet at the Ambrose hall, Church Road, every Thursday 9.30am - 11.30am. Family event: Join the Harrietsha­m Family Event on each Saturday morning (weather permitting) at the Glebe Field, Marley Road. Everyone in the audience joined in and fun was had by a wide range of age groups. Well done to the members of HAMS for the production of a well received performanc­e. Work starts on next years panto, to be announced soon! Hub Club: The first meeting of the Len Valley Community Hub Club takes place at the Social Club, High Street on Thursday, February 1 at 2pm-4pm. Sachiko work: If you would like to know more about making a Sachiko evening bag and try your hand at a new skill, or simply work on your own projects, then why not pop into the community centre and in the Osborne room you will find a happy band of sewers busy making wonderful pieces of handicraft items. It does not matter if you are a beginner or an accomplish­ed seamstress, you will be equally welcome to join the group. Details on 01622 859682 Members of the council will meet with drainage contractor­s to try to resolve the reoccurrin­g flooding problem in the Maidstone Road car park. The parish council are responsibl­e for the upkeep of the site, and despite recently having all the drains cleaned, the issue of specific areas of flooding has not yet been resolved. Would dog walkers please remember to keep their pets on leads whilst in the churchyard of St Marys church the Square.
