K Sports 1sts lost 2-1 at home to Kent Women’s League, Division 3 leaders Gore Court on Saturday. Kerry Fowler scored to give K Sports the lead, with her sister Jo Fowler providing the assist, although Court equalised from a short corner. The visitors quickly scored a second goal and it turned out to be the winner as Court moved five points clear of K Sports in second. Sharon Turville’s first two goals for the club earned K Sports 2nds a 2-1 win at home to Faversham in Division 5. Turville opened her account inside 10 minutes but the hosts’ passing let them down and Faversham levelled with a well-taken goal. K Sports rediscovered their rhythm in the second half but survived a scare when player-of-the-match Tracy Smith had to make an important block. The winning goal was a scrappy one, Turville’s shot taking a deflection off a defender to give K Sports the points.

Marden Russets ladies’ 1sts won 2- 0 at home to Bromley & Beckenham 3rds, making it seven straight wins in the Kent Women’s League, Premier Division on Saturday.

Goals from Claudine and Laura Hill made the difference for fourth-placed Marden, while Charlotte Hope made a fantastic block on the goal line.

However, the 2nds lost 1- 0 to Dartford 2nds in Kent Division 4, paying the price for a host of missed opportunities and wasted short corners.

Dartford’s keeper made some excellent saves but Russets lacked accuracy in their shooting.

The men’s 1sts suffered an 8-1 defeat away to Crawley in Kent/Sussex Regional 2, leaving them sixth.

In Kent Open Premier A, Marden Russets 2nds travelled to Gillingham Anchorians 2nds and returned home with a 2-2 draw.

Russets dominated possession early on but failed to threaten the home goal and fell behind against the run of play.

Dom Barner finished off a short corner routine to equalise, although despite being reduced to 10 men in the second half, the visitors got in front.

However, Anchs levelled from a penalty corner.

Marden 3rds suffered their first defeat since October, losing 1- 0 to Folkestone 5ths in Division 1.

Optimists scored from a short corner in the first half, converting one of few chances created by either side.

Jamie Young, Kit Freeman and Alex and Roly Sims all managed to get behind the Folkestone defence but none of them could get Russets back in the game.

The 4ths were 3- 0 down to Old Bordenians 4ths at half-time and went on to lose 4-1 in Division 2.
