TONBRIDGE: DRAW EXTENDS UNBEATEN RUN
Tonbridge stretched their unbeaten run to six matches with a 12-12 draw away to Redingensians on Saturday.
A TJs mistake, failing to find touch with a penalty, led to the opening try for the hosts.
Tonbridge improved and went 7-5 ahead through a Rory McHugh try, following a drive over the line and Liam Prescott’s conversion.
But Redingensians hit back quickly with a converted try for a 12-7 lead at the break.
The second half started slowly but with 20 minutes gone, Tonbridge had the territorial advantage and eventually made it pay when new boy Samiuela Atiola scored in the corner.
Both sides went all out for the win, with the best chances falling to Tonbridge, who missed two penalties.
The first kick didn’t have the distance while a slip saw the second effort sail wide.
Tonbridge, eighth in National 2 South, host second-placed Chinnor on Saturday.
