Landlord lends his racehorse to veteran

Maidstone property mogul Fergus Wilson is set to hand his horse over to a disabled former soldier who is hoping to ride it to first place at Sandown later this month.

Afghan war veteran Captain Guy Disney has already ridden Rathlin Rose to success, when he won the Royal Artillery Gold Cup last year.

The victory came eight years after Captain Disney had his lower right leg blown off in the Middle East.

Cpt Disney managed a third place finish at the 2015 race.

He will now ride the horse for a second time at Sandown on Friday, February 16.
