Due in court

A motorist has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a badly damaged car, with a tyre missing, was seen by several people heading along the M2.

The vehicle was said to have been travelling for miles in the condition, with several witnesses reporting seeing it near junction 5 for Maidstone and Sheerness on Tuesday.

Kevin Vernon was arrested on the A249 Stockbury at 9.20pm. The 37- year- old, of no fixed address, will appear before magistrates on February 23, charged with drink driving.
