Ann Widdecombe’s bid to be crowned winner of Celebrity Big Brother fell short last week.

The former Maidstone and The Weald MP garnered the support of her constituents for 23 years, but on Friday, she failed to win a public vote against show favourite, Shane Jenek, better-known as drag queen Courtney Act.

Despite airing controversial views on gay marriage, the former politician came second, gaining 39.5%.
