In the wake of the Carillion crisis, Maidstone Labour Party has welcomed Jeremy Corbyn’s comments that it’s time to put an end to the rip-off privatisation policies that have done serious damage to our public services.

Carillion has been involved in many high profile public sector construction projects like HS2 but it also directly delivered front line public services: providing 11,500 hospital beds, maintaining 50,000 homes for military personnel, 218 school meal services and maintains 50 prisons across the UK.

In Kent Carillion is known to employ more than 300 people at Dartford’s Darent Valley Hospital, run a training centre in Sittingbourne and services nine prisons across Kent including maintenance at Maidstone Prison.
