Birthday thanks to the NHS
Firefighters gave a special thanks to the NHS on its 70th birthday last week.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service delivered a huge personalised card to Maidstone Hospital on Thursday.
The big day was enjoyed with a slice of birthday cake designed by catering students from Mid Kent College, while the hospital also unveiled new grounds.
Vice chairman of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, Sarah Dunnett said: “This was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the achievements of one of the nation’s most loved institutions and to recognise and thank the extraordinary NHS staff, who are everyday heroes.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service chief executive Ann Millington said: “Everyone at Kent Fire and Rescue Service sends their best wishes to the teams providing such vital services. The day was a time to reflect, to be proud and to give thanks for everything the NHS does.”
