Parker and Lee on target in opening victory

-

Aylesford made a good start to the Premier Division season with a 2-1 win at 10-man Barming Youth on Sunday. Andy Parker and Karrum Lee scored for the visitors, with Martin Burgum pulling one back. Barming finished a man down after a straight red card for Jack Cooper. East Malling beat Blue Eagles 2-1 thanks to Mark Barrett and Perry Pointing. David Allen replied but comeback hopes ended when Levi Lind was sent off. Josh Brown scored twice as Fishermans Arms won 3-1 at Marden. Skipper Richard Conelly added a third before Brad Watkins grabbed a consolation. Josh Town scored but was later sent off as Maidstone International beat Invicta Rangers 3-0 in Division 1. Mark McAllister also saw red as International finished with nine men, while striker Mark Bolton scored the other two goals. East Malling Reserves edged Langley Athletic with Callum Tolley scoring the only goal. Barming Colts made light work of Park Royal Reserves with a 5-1 home win. Brett Ince scored in either half, followed by late goals from Carl Smith and Jack English (2). In Division 2, Oakleigh Rovers held on for a goalless draw against Maidstone Tempests after Jamie McAuliffe was sent off. He went for two yellow cards – the first for dissent and the second a needless handball – but the introduction of Glen Reed and Curtis Collins tightened up the Rovers defence. Earlier, Tempests’ Aaron Pudney blasted over from five yards after a mix-up between Danny Hives and McAuliffe. Invicta Sunday had eight new players in their squad for the 2-2 draw with Rubicon Limerick. They trailed early on but levelled with Aiden Steel’s diving header from a Dan Porter free-kick. And it was 2-1 to Invicta right on half-time when Kieron Lee pounced after Porter’s 25-yard free-kick hit the bar. League new boys Limerick never gave up and equalised with 12 minutes left. Jack Stansall scored an openingday hat-trick as Vinters beat Crosskeys 6-3. Andrew Driver, Joe Moss and a header from Jorge Almeida completed Vinters’ tally. Ben Matthews, Andrew Walters and Dan Pollard replied. Barming Blues came from two down to beat White Horse Reserves 3-2. Goals from Ben Curran and Tom Thatcher, after a fine team move, put the Horse in charge. But Josh Wilson replied from the edge of the box and levelled after a neat turn and toe-poke under the keeper. With a draw looking likely, Sam Broadmore reacted quickest to slot home and give Barming victory.
