We’re drowning in a sea of litter

The Park Wood Residents’ Associatio­n has had litter and fly-tipping on the agenda of its committee for the last two years or more.

Despite reporting litter to both Golding Homes and Maidstone Borough Council the problem persists.

Litter is dealt with when reports are made, but more litter replaces it almost immediatel­y.

If we keep doing the same thing, we will keep getting the same result so we need to do something different if we are to deter litterers and fly-tippers.

We, the committee members of Park Wood Residents’ Associatio­n, would like to meet with all bodies concerned to see how we can work together to stop the problem.

Park Wood residents need to have pride in where they live and this won’t happen while we live on an island of litter surrounded by a sea of traffic.

had “shaved 15 years off your life”. And whoever said “It is as if you were carrying me on your back wherever you go”… yes, I support them too. Because, harsh though these comments sound, we all go to the doctor for help and advice. The doctor tells us what is needed to make us well, and they usually know far better than we do.

In each of these cases, I imagine they were trying their best to drive home to each patient the severity of their situation.

If they had not done so, and the patients had died of obesityrel­ated illnesses, then their relatives would probably say
