Gallagher bags six wickets as Holmesdale hold sway

Callum Gallagher took six wickets as Holmesdale beat Upchurch by 87 runs.

Electing to bat first, Holmesdale opened with a 43-run opening stand between Dom May and Daniel Brabham.

May eventually went for 45 off 49 balls, before Nick Miller added 49 and Rupert Harbig contribute­d 48 as the visitors were bowled out for 263.

Callum Mitchell and Faisal Zaman both picked up four wickets apiece for Upchurch. Upchurch found themselves at 5-2 in reply, but worked their way back to 117-4 thanks to 63 from Michael Hales Jnr and 42 from David Masters.

Both were dismissed by Gallagher, who finished with 6-41 to limit the hosts to 176 all out. St Lawrence & Highland

Court won by 14 runs in their meeting with Bromley Common following a half-century from Will Heywood.

Opting to bat first, St Lawrence started with a 66-run stand from Ruaridh MacLeod (32) and Matthew Hammond (34) until the latter was caught by Gamindu Kanishka off Conteh Nixon (3-40).

Heywood supplied another 58 from 71 balls, followed by 47 from Piers Richardson as their side closed on 236 all out. Common responded strongly when openers Leigh Walker (64) and Jamal Patterson (12) hit 77 between them. The latter was first to go after being caught by MacLeod off the bowling of Richardson.

Thomas Copestake produced figures of 3-43 to help bowl Common out for 222, with David Draper having been the second top scorer on just 24.

Stuart Graham scored a century as Folkestone recorded a threewicke­t victory over Linden

Park.

Park opened with 46 courtesy of Jayden Hoare (32) and Max Campbell (23).

Tom Corner later chipped in with 33 alongside 23 from Daniel Corner to lift the score to 139 by the time the latter was caught by Sam Butler off Ken Gainsford.

Freddie Hulbert (47 not out) and Paul Seldon (50 not out) then led Linden to 248-5 at the close. Folkestone lost opener Chris

Jay for a duck, before recovering through Graham and Shaheer Malik’s 31.

Leon Morgan posted another 36 while Graham reached 119 to help his side towards a winning score of 249-7.

Hulbert was Linden’s best performer with the ball, picking up 3-39.

Hayes were beaten by two wickets in their clash with Broadstair­s.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat, Hayes were bowled out for 144 following a top score of just 27 from skipper Beau Couldrey.

There were, meanwhile, two wickets apiece for Bradley Ellison, Jamie Dewell, Jayojit Basu and Chris Kidd. Broadstair­s were 0-1 after losing Alex Hogben following a catch from Liam Buttery off David Giles, who picked up 4-23.

Scott Gallagher also took 3-34, but saw Basu top scored on 61 as Broadstair­s reached 146-8 in 34.3 overs.

Bromley won by six wickets at home to Tenterden.

Tenterden started slowly after electing to bat, slipping to 34-4. Gabriel Gad then produced 60 followed by three scores of 20 from his team-mates as the visitors finished on 190-8. Bromley reached 89 in reply thanks to Sam Smith (58) and Richard Selvey-Clinton (28), the former of whom was caught by Tom Richards off Reuben Collingwoo­d. Yasir Arafat scored 38 not out alongside Amjad Khan’s unbeaten 35 to take their team to 191-4.
