The pair finished joint-12th on Sunday, as Milford improved on last season’s 22nd place. He carded one-under scores in rounds three and four, firing eight birdies – the best of any golfer – on the final day.

Kent under-18 golf captain Jacob Kelso is on England duty for the first time in the Boys’ Home Internationals at Ashburnham GC in Wales. He warmed up for his England debut by finishing third at the East Berkshire Junior Stag competition last Thursday, helping Kent win the under-18 county team prize.

The four-day tournament finishes tomorrow (Friday).

Teston cricketers shared a century stand for the 10th wicket in their friendly against Ide Hill on Saturday. Nick Egan (71 not out) and Alastair Allsworth (27) came together with Teston 38-9 and put on exactly 100 in a recordbreaking partnership.

Despite the tail-enders’ heroics, Ide Hill reached their 139 target for the loss of one wicket.
