Village pub one of county’s most viewed properties
Thousands checking out £90,000 business
A traditional country pub near Maidstone is one of the most viewed properties on Zoopla over the past month.
The lease of The Hop Pole Inn, in Nettlestead, is up for sale for £90,000, having been viewed 2,538 times in the last 30 days. The business is run as a traditional country pub with a restaurant, serving an a la carte menu, bar meals and a daily carvery.
The listing says: “This is an excellent opportunity to purchase a well-established business in a village setting, which offers potential for future growth and improvement.” However, the pub is dwarfed by a 50-acre Grade II-listed country estate in Edenbridge, which has 3,674 page views and a fourbed house in Sittingbourne, which has more than 5,510. It looks like any other detached property from the outside, but inside is like stepping back in time.
The house, in Canterbury Road has had more than 5,510 page views in the past 30 days. It is on the market for £325,000 and has a large – but empty – swimming pool and interior design that’s reminiscent of the 1970s, including a lime green lounge and dining area, and flamboyant floor and ceiling tiles throughout. Estate agents Quealy & Co said it was delighted to present to the market this “unique family home”, which was “in need of modernisation.”
The dearest Kent property on Zoopla is Hunton Court, a three-storey Grade II-listed country house off West Street in Hunton, near Maidstone, which will set you back £12.5m. It has eight bedrooms and five reception rooms, plus two gate lodges and a stable cottage – and there is 171 acres of land, a walled garden and lakes, a swimming pool and tennis court.
It was once the home of Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, who served as Prime Minister. The cheapest property is a twobed refurbished holiday chalet in Leysdown, priced at £8,500.
