Kent Messenger Maidstone

No change for listed players

-

Maidstone boss John Still says nothing has changed with the club’s transfer-listed players. Iffy Allen, Nana Kyei and Jonny Edwards have all scored for the Stones since being made available at the start of last month.

They’ve featured at various times but remain on the list along with Lewis Knight, who’s returned injured from a loan spell at St Albans, and Clovis Kamdjo.

Head of football Still said: “Lewis has come back with a knock, otherwise I think St Albans would have extended the loan but everything is as it was.

“These players are still available for loan or permanent transfer.

“They’re all working very hard to try and convince us that perhaps they do have a future here, and that may be the case, but as it stands, the situation is the same.”

Maidstone meet Dartford for the second weekend running this Saturday, hosting their Kent rivals in the FA Trophy third qualifying round.

The Stones blew a two-goal lead as the league meeting ended in a draw and Still has called on his players to cut out costly mistakes.

He said: “With the greatest of respect we have to rectify that because we don’t want to spoil our progress.

“If you have players who aren’t good enough or aren’t consistent enough, that’s part and parcel of football.

“But when you have players who are indeed good enough but little errors creep in and cost you points, you’ve got to do something about it.

“You can’t just leave it but at the same time I’m not jumping up and down saying this has got to change. Footballers are human beings and sometimes people have a bad day.”
