Southern Counties East League BILLINGS OPTS FOR BREAK Cricket
K Sports were thrashed 7-1 by a rampant Sheppey side at Cobdown on Saturday.
It was a seventh straight league win for the visitors who have scored 68 goals in just 18 Southern Counties East games this season, with their latest victory moving them up to second place.
With the Ites in such spectacular form it was always going to be a difficult day for the Paperboys. Dan Bradshaw’s early penalty and a Harrison Carnegie strike gave Sheppey a 2-0 lead and while Jordan Ababio replied, Danny Leonard restored the two-goal lead before half-time.
K Sports were blown away in the last 20 minutes with Bradshaw taking his tally to four, followed by a Hicham Akhazzan goal. The rest of the league programme was wiped out by rain.
It’s derby day this Saturday when Bearsted host K Sports at Honey Lane, while Snodland visit Lydd in Division 1.

“All the best to the lads heading to South Africa,” said Billings on Twitter. “Huge amount of depth especially in the white ball game at the moment.
“Of course, I’m disappointed not to be involved but wish the boys all the best.
“Will be working hard to get back in the mix (in all formats) in the near future! “On a personal level, I have chosen to pull out of any franchise cricket this winter as well to focus/freshen up for a big year with Kent. “Very fortunate to have played all over the last few years and a break from the game to refresh I feel is the best decision.”
