Theobalds in Poland move

Tonbridge midfielder D’Sean Theobalds has joined Polish Premier League club Korona Kielce.

The 25-year-old impressed on trial with the eastern European side and has signed a three-year contract. Tonbridge boss Steve McKimm said: “It’s full-time football, it’s what he wants, it’s a new adventure for him. “He’ll be sorely missed not just by me but the staff, the players and the fans, who all appreciated his efforts and his quality.

“I’d like to think he’s taken bits from us that have helped him on his way.

“He goes with our blessing and our very best wishes. I hope he does really well. You never know who’s watching.” Theobalds spent just over a year with Tonbridge after joining from Leatherhead and quickly became a crowd favourite after a string of superb performances.

It was his solo wonder goal that took their super play-off final at Met Police to extratime before Tom Derry’s winner secured promotion. McKimm said: “That goal against Met Police will stay with us for a long time but D’Sean did well in lots of games.

“I think he’s got seven goals this season which is a good return for a level he’s not really played at before.

“He’s done lots of good things for us, probably more than you can highlight, but the goal in the play-off final was special because it was do or die at 2-1 down with five minutes to go.

“He’s one of those players who comes up with defining moments.

“He’s a tremendous talent and he’ll be sorely missed.”
