See-through trousers worn on trip to pub

Judge: ‘Officers could see his bottom as they drove past’

- By Katie Heslop

A serial flasher laughed and told police he was “Mr Inappropriate” when caught wearing seethrough trousers with no underwear in Maidstone town centre after a trip to Wetherspoon. Robert Jenner, 45, was sentenced to a year in prison for breaching a criminal behaviour order, indecent exposure and malicious communication at Maidstone Crown Court last Thursday following an earlier trial.

In March last year the ex-soldier, who claims to be a naturist, was jailed for two years after being convicted of 11 charges of exposure, committed while delivering parcels in a pair of jeans with a hole cut in the crotch.

Jenner, formerly of Snodland, gained notoriety as the ‘naked carpenter’ after doing housework in the nude.

Prosecuting, Daniel Stevenson said on January 20, at around 11.30pm, police discovered Jenner, a former Hermes delivery driver, walking along St Faith’s

Street and wearing see-through trousers, leaving his manhood clearly visible. He had been drinking at a Wetherspoon in the the town.

He also told one woman on social media to ‘come clean or I will sue’ when she complained about him wearing nothing but trainers.

Mr Stevenson said Jenner “continues to show no regard to court orders or the public”. Defending, John Fitzegerald, said Jenner, now of no fixed address, claims he had been wearing a fleece on January 20 to hide his manhood if the need arose, but because he had been drinking he was not in control of what was being covered. However, Judge Julian Smith pointed out: “He was still in the centre of Maidstone, drinking, in those see-through trousers... officers could see his bottom as they drove past.” Mr Fitzegerald also said no members of the public had complained that evening.
