Hundreds of trees being illegally cut
Hundreds of trees in bluebellrich woodland have been illegally felled.
Police are investigating after several acres off Scragged
Oak Road, Detling, were targeted by loggers who do not own the land.
Those responsible are understood to be be selling the timber on Facebook. Suspicious activity began in March and has occurred on at least two occasions since. Fly tipping has also been reported.
A police spokesman said: “Officers are investigating the unauthorised felling and theft of trees from an area of privately-owned woodland.
“Kent Police was initially called on March 23 to a report an area of trees had been illegally felled. The matter was investigated by the Rural Task Force but no arrests were made.
“On July 4 the victim reported further felling had taken place affecting around three acres. ”
